| Description | Wildwood Mennonite Church is a congregation of Mennonite Church Saskatchewan and affiliated with Mennonite Church Canada. We believe our mission as a church is to share God's love with people in our community and around the world. We are an informal congregation who values strong lay leadership in worship, has a passion for the work of Mennonite Central Committee and strongly supports working toward eradicating injustices in our world. |
| History | In 1975 five area General Conference churches began exploring the possibility of planting a new Mennonite church in the east side of Saskatoon. Worship services began in late 1975 and by October 1976 College Park Mennonite Church was formed with 27 charter members. Property was purchased in the Wildwood area of Saskatoon with the help of Conference of Mennonite of Saskatchewan Missions Committee and the Saskatoon churches. The congregation moved into their new building in February 1980 and the name was changed to Wildwood Mennonite Church. An addition which included a multi-use sanctuary, kitchen, offices, bathrooms and loft was added in 1985. A n addition of a ramp leading up to the Youth Loft was added in 1997. |
