Abbotsford 2007 - Mennonite Church Canada Annual Assembly

Worship

Worship is a fundamental activity of the gathered church and our Assembly. The theme “Built to Last” will be addressed through song, symbol, preaching, scripture reading, stories, drama and prayer. At the morning worship services, all assembly registrants – children, youth and adults – will worship together. The evening worship services, which are open to the community, will feature speakers addressing our theme text of 1 Corinthians 3:11.

Sunday Worship

Congregations from across Canada are invited to host an Assembly Sunday worship service in their congregation on Sunday, July 8. Worship suggestions will be sent to all MC Canada congregations in the May Equipping package and will also be available at www.mennonitechurch.ca/resources.

Prayer Room

A Prayer Room will be available at MEI for personal or group prayer throughout the Assembly.

Seminars

A small selection of seminars will be presented during the morning discernment time for those who are not delegates. A full selection of seminars will be offered on Wednesday and Friday from 1:15 to 2:30 PM for everyone to attend. A complete listing of seminars will be included in your registration confirmation letter.

Take a break!

Everyone is invited to take Thursday afternoon and evening off to go on a tour (see Tours section for more details) or just relax. Following the tours, all attendees are invited to join the youth assembly at Trinity Western University. The evening will include a barbecue, family entertainment and activities and an opportunity for fellowship and relaxation with Mennonite Church Canada members of all ages and from across the country. Barbecue tickets must be purchased in advance by marking the appropriate space on the registration form under “E. Special Meals, Events, Tours.” You may also choose to bring your own meal or to come just for the entertainment and activities. Free shuttle service will be provided between the Assembly Hotels (see Lodging section) and Trinity Western University.
