Native Assembly 2004

May 4, 2004

Dear Friends,

On behalf of Native communities and congregations related to Mennonite Church Canada and its area conferences, and especially on behalf of the host communities of Matheson Island, Riverton, and Pine Dock, Donovan Jacobs and I extend a hearty invitation to you to attend Native Assembly, 2004, July 26 - 29, in Riverton, Manitoba. An exciting program is being planned for people of all ages.

Please send in your registration form as soon as possible so that we can make the necessary arrangements to host you as comfortably as possible. You should feel free to make any additional copies you may require.

The planning committee has again recommended that we bring health kits for our international ministries through MCC, and that we present them in one of the evening sessions. Information concerning these kits is contained in the brochure. If you wish to obtain bags for these you may check with your regional MCC office. For Manitoba-based groups we have bags at the Native Ministry office.

Congregations are also invited to bring a banner depicting the name of their church and any symbols that reflect its life and ministries.

Please do not hesitate to let us know of any special needs you may have that we as a hosting group can respond to. Please join us in prayer for this Assembly and for those who work with the hosting and final planning arrangements. God grant you all journeying mercies.

Your brother in Christ,
Walter Franz,
Director, Native Ministry
