This year's assembly will be hosted by Mennonite Church Saskatchewan at the Circle Drive Alliance Church in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan (July 3-7, 2002). It promises to be another great time to spend in community with our countrywide church, exploring issues, discerning God's vision for the world, and our place in it.
This year's assembly will again feature a Youth Convention, a Ministers and Deacons conference on Wednesday (July 3), workshops and seminars concurrent with discernment sessions, and tours and special events on Faith and Family Day (Friday, July 5). Each day will be bookended by a combination of praise, worship and bible study times.
A special feature this year is a pre-assembly event entitled Making Peace with the Land: A city mouse and a country mouse talk. This event has grown directly out of a resolution at Lethbridge 2000 that called on MC Canada to explore the crisis issues surrounding food, faith and farming. It will be a time to enhance our mutual understanding of agricultural issues among rural and urban folks alike. No matter where you live, you are encouraged to attend this special event!
