September 17, 2002September 11, 2002Witness Wanderers a Hit!!
Mennonite Church Canada congregations are in for a real treat. Witness Wanders, a drama troupe from Drayton Ontario, are visiting all the area conferences telling a familiar story with an new twist.
It is exciting to see faces of young and those a little older brighten up, laugh and be encouraged as they journey with four characters along the yellow brick road in the World of God. The message they bring is a familiar story with an little twist. We are challenged to capture for ourselves a heart for the mission of God that is the core of what it means to be a follower of Jesus Christ.
Do not miss your opportunity to see Dorothy, The Lion, Scarecrow and The Tin Man when they are in your area. They are raising prayer support, understanding and financial support for Witness work at home and around the world. -Al Rempel September 7, 2002
Hillcrest Mennonite Church: Scene of Terrific Event.
The Witness Wanderers came to this rural Ontario church for their second engagement on their tour of congregations in every area conference. Faces of young and older brightened and laughed with the four characters of this troupe on their journey along the yellow brick road in the World of God.
Its a familiar story with unique perspective that encourages each of us to join them on a journey in our search how they can be used in Gods mission from across the street to around the world.
Your investment of a little over an hour brings the reward of being challenged to be used by God as you are. Your encouragement is to use your gifts in Gods mission. The gathered group in Hillcrest Mennonite Church were received that gift on the evening of September 8, 2002. -Al Rempel September 4, 2002
WOWs Journey of the yellow brick road has begunThe World of Witness (WOW) Wanderers have started their tour into each of the area conferences in Canada. The first stop was at Calvary Mennonite Church in Monetville, Ontario, about five hours north of Kitchener-Waterloo. Approximately 40 people met and heard the lion, tinman, scarecrow, and Dorothy seeking for courage, a heart of love, and discernment, in order to become better WITNESSers. The group initiated the Prayers of the Yellow Brick Road. Each place that the Witness Wanderers visit will be asked to write their prayers for the church upon the yellow brick road. Participants can read the prayers from across area conferences and add their prayers as well. One yellow brick road comment from Monteville reads: "Your message is timeless. I really enjoyed the presentation. Thank-you for blessing our area with your play. I know that you will be a blessing wherever you go and may you be blessed." Others added prayers for unity and a call to let our light shine within our communities.
