Burkina Faso Learning Tour 2011...YOU are invited!February 17 - 28, 2011Tour Leaders: Jeff & Tany Warkentin and Norm Dyck
Where are we going?A full schedule of activities is being developed and will be available shortly. We are planning to visit Ouagadougou, Orodara, Tin, Samoghohiri, Kotoura, and several other communities. We believe this will give participants a broad understanding of the work to which God has called the church in Burkina Faso. What will we be doing? The primary focus for every Mennonite Church Canada Learning Tour is helping Canadian Mennonites connect with what God is doing in different parts of our world. Through daily times of worship, reflection and conversation we will gain a greater appreciation for God’s wonderful work of reconciliation, hope and healing. In addition, participants are challenged to see and share how God is moving in their own lives. Who can come?We are inviting anyone who is willing to participate in the activities of a rigorous cross-cultural experience, which include times of worship, reflections on faith experiences, and interacting with people of a different culture. Participants will need to be able to walk some distances and handle their own luggage. A working knowledge of French is an asset (translation will be provided). How much will it cost?Mennonite Church Canada is offering this learning experience to individuals on a double occupancy basis for $1,100 CAD per person plus international travel (currently flight costs from Toronto are approximately $1,950). If you would like to use air miles to book your flight to Ouagadougou, please contact Norm Dyck for further information.
