Philippines Learning Tour - Toronto Departure |
|||||
You are invited!March 4 - 15, 2010 (see Vancouver Departure for other dates)Tour Leaders: Dann & Joji Pantoja and Norm DyckDann & Joji Pantoja are engaged in active peace ministries that involve conversations with Muslims and Christians. Together they invite you to visit the beautiful but troubled Mindanao region of the Philippines. You will have a unique experience of learning firsthand how to walk and talk the way of peace, learning from these expert guides. Norm Dyck is the Director of Congregational Partnerships for Mennonite Church Canada and will accompany the tour from and to Canada. Where are we going?A full schedule of activities is available upon request but in short form you will be visiting: Cotabato City, Nuling Sultan Kudarat, Mama Sapano, Shariff Aguak, Datu Montawal, and Midsayap, Cotabato. We believe this will give participants a broad understanding of the work that God has called us to in the Philippines. A full itinerary is available upon request. What will we be doing?The primary focus for every learning tour of Mennonite Church Canada is helping Canadian Mennonites connect with what God is doing in different parts of our world. Through daily times of worship, reflection and conversation we will gain a greater appreciation for God’s wonderful work of reconciliation, hope and healing. In addition, participants are challenged to see and share how God is moving in their own lives. Who can come?We are inviting anyone who is willing to participate in the activities of a Peace & Reconciliation Field Exposure, which include times of worship, reflections on faith experiences, and interacting with people of a different culture. Participants will need to be able to walk some distances and handle their own luggage. How much will it cost?Mennonite Church Canada is offering this learning experience to individuals on a double occupancy basis for $2,995 CAD per person (based on a Toronto departure – cost is subject to change). If you would like to use air miles to book your flight to Manila, please contact Norm Dyck for further information. This package price includes a gift to the Philippines ministry of $200 - a tax receipt will be issued. Included are: lodging; meals: breakfast, lunch and dinner daily. Participants will need to purchase travel insurance before leaving Canada and be prepared to pay incidental costs such as in transit lunches and beverages. A passport is required for international travel. Contact: Norm Dyck Sign up today!This offer is limited to the first 9 (nine) registered participants.
