2002 MC Canada directory, assembly minutes available

September 25, 2002

Winnipeg, Man.—The new 2002 Mennonite Church Canada phone directory is now available, and for the first time an electronic version is available to members of Mennonite Church Canada as well as a printed copy.

The new directory was completed by MC Canada staff and involved significant volunteer assistance. Its 100 pages offer detailed Canadian congregational information. Contact information for churches, congregational leadership, area conferences and Mennonite agencies/institutions are included, as well as an events listing.

An electronic version of the directory is available by e-mail. Due to privacy concerns, it is not offered directly for download from MC Canada’s web site, but about ten churches have already requested and received an electronic copy of the directory in the first week of its availability.

Until publication of the 2003 directory, updates and corrections will be made dynamically to the electronic edition, ensuring the availability of current information. Requests for copies, updates and corrections can be submitted to Daniel Rempel at or 1-866-888-6785. Coil bound print editions will also be available. Cost is expected to be in the $5.00/copy range. An order form will be distributed in the November edition of Equipping Canada, a ten-times yearly mailing to congregations. The November edition will be mailed in mid-October.

In the future, MC Canada has hopes to launch a secure web-based directory as a service to Mennonite congregations. The web site would allow individual congregations to maintain and update their specific information.

Also available is the Saskatoon 2002 Minute Book, containing the reports, proceedings and delegate listing of this summer’s MC Canada Assembly. It will also be distributed in the November issue of Equipping Canada and will be available soon from
