Winnipeg, Man.— Van Hoa Chau, a member of MC Canada’s Formation Council, presents a plaque to Mennonite Church Canada on behalf of the Mennonite Church Vietnam. Chau estimated membership of the Mennonite Church Vietnam to be about 10,000. He said it’s hard to get an accurate count since the church is growing rapidly among the many small congregations spread throughout the villages in rural Vietnam’s hill country. The gift recognizes the MC Canada ministry support the church has received in his home country. The plaque, quoting scripture from Psalm 21:2, is written in Vietnamese calligraphy. Available staff graciously accepted the gift on behalf of all MC Canada congregations.
