January 23, 2004 Niedergoersdorf, Germany— MC Canada Witness workers Jake and Dorothy Unrau (Rosemary MC, Alberta) were installed as pastors at the Christliche Glaubensgemeinschaft here on November 30 (First Advent). Johannes Bechstedt (left), church council chair, warmly welcomed them into the congregation. Volunteer interim pastor John R. Friesen from Manitoba conducted the service. The congregation recently named several members to lay leadership positions in the congregation. Greetings were extended by representatives of several German Mennonite conferences and congregations, the mayor of Niedergoersdorf and the local Lutheran pastor as well as Peter Rempel, representing MC Canada Witness. The Unraus most recently served with Witness in Zaporozhye, Ukraine. |
