| May 31, 2004 Winnipeg, Man.— A plateful of new resources will soon be available to congregations of Mennonite Church Canada. A comprehensive new MC Canada prayer directory and prayer poster for 2004-05, a Weddings resource booklet for pastors and couples planning marriage ceremonies, and a refreshed KidsPak (MC Canada’s intergenerational stewardship and mission resource) are just some of the items that will be available. A new brochure entitled What makes a Mennonite? is designed as a tool for congregations to hand out to visitors and guests of their church. The brochure invites readers to an overview of Mennonites, dispels some common stereotypes, briefly explains the basics of Mennonite-Anabaptist beliefs, and provides a timeline of Mennonite history. Unsettled Weather: How do we forgive? by Wilma L. Derksen is a joint project of Home Street Mennonite Church and Mennonite Central Committee Canada. Mennonite Church Canada has been providing moral support for the project, and will help with publicity and distribution. The seven session series aims to help people work through the forgiveness process. Delegates to this summer’s assembly in Winkler, Man. (July 7 -11) are being invited to take home a package of resources for each congregation. |
