Mission seminar prepares workers


Mission workers newly leaving or returning to service

Winnipeg, Man. — An eclectic mix of men, women, families, and young adults gathered for a week of inspiration and orientation at Mission Seminar in Pinawa, Manitoba. The July 23 – 29 event prepares workers for international ministry well as assisting returning workers with reintegration into life and ministry in North America.

Those newly leaving or returning to service are (front, l-r): Jeff and Tany Warkentin (Pincher Creek, Alberta) with children Danika and Asher, preparing to leave for 2 ½ years of service in Burkina Faso in early 2006; Jeanette and Todd Hanson (Saskatchewan), with daughters Kate and Clair, in China since 1991 and returning to service there; (middle): Vic and Kathy Thiessen (Edmonton), with daughters Janelle and Katrina, returning to the London Mennonite Centre in England; Cheryl Woelk (Swift Current, Sask.) returning to the Korea Anabaptist Center in Seoul, South Korea; Rad and Pat Houmphan (Vancouver), returning to service in Thailand; (back): Loren (Kansas) and Donna (Fiske, Sask.), returning to their 27-year-old ministry in Burkina Faso; Bonnie Friesen (Grunthal, Man.), 38 years of service in Europe, returning to Ukraine; Sherry Peters (Winnipeg), leaving for a first term of service in Ireland.
