Title: Laos Church Planting Team
Caption: Winnipeg, Man. — On Nov. 6, 2009, (l-r),
Dan Poovong (representing Calgary Lao Mennonite Church), Pat and Rad
Houmphan (Mennonite Church Canada Witness workers in Thailand), Gordon
Janzen (Mission Partnership Facilitator, Asia, MC Canada), Chinda Komalla
(Lay Pastor, Lao Canadian Evangelical Mennonite Church, Toronto) and
Norm Dyck (Congregational Partnerships, MC Canada) met in Winnipeg to
explore ministry possibilities in Laos. The Lao Mennonite Conference
of Canada (LMCC) has sent a letter to Lao government officials requesting
permission to plant Mennonite churches in Laos. The government responded
with a request for a meeting. The approval of the Lao government is critical
to the ongoing vision of LMCC’s church planting efforts in Laos.
Komalla is hopeful the meeting with government officials will result
in registration.
