September 14, 2012 Elsie Rempel’s new book, Please Pass the Faith: The Art of Spiritual Grandparenting, hit #1 on McNally Robinson’s non-fiction bestseller list for the week of Sept. 2, 2012. Although the book was officially launched in Vancouver, B.C. at Mennonite Church Canada’s Assembly 2012, the McNally Robinson event brought the book into a larger public arena with its launch on Sept. 5. Please Pass the Faith examines the challenges of relationships between young and old, tending one’s own spirituality, and the process of how faith grows and matures. Against this background, she gives practical advice for connecting across generations, interweaving and building the faith of old and young in the church. Rempel has an MA in theology and more than 40 years of experience in children’s ministry. She has taught senior Bible class in her congregation and studied the area of seniors and the church. An interview with Rempel about spiritual grand-parenting can be found via Mennonite Church Canada’s Church Matters podcast at www.mennonitechurch.ca/tiny/1790. Her book is available at http://resources.mennonitechurch.ca/ResourceView/2/14433 |
