Winnipeg, MAN. — Daniel Paetkau is serving as a Mennonite Church Canada intern from September 1, 2012 to August 31, 2013. He grew up in Winnipeg, Manitoba and recently graduated from Canadian Mennonite University with a B.A. in Literature.

Paetkau was raised in the Mennonite Church. He is interested in developing relationships with other denominations and working with people in poverty. These two goals, along with a personal family history in Paraguay and a fascination with Spanish literature and language, motivated him to serve with Mennonite Church Canada.

Until Nov. 29 of this year, Daniel will be engaged in Spanish language and cultural studies at Central American Studies and Service (CASAS) in Guatemala. For the next segment of his assignment, he will be involved with music and other ministries at CEMTA Seminary in Asuncion, Paraguay.

Daniel’s home congregation is Jubilee Mennonite Church in Winnipeg.
