Congregational resources now on the web!

Winnipeg, Man.—Mennonite Church Canada Resource Updates can now be found on the conference's web site at

Mennonite Church Canada regularly informs congregations about current books, videos, and other church resources available on free loan to congregations, but posting them to the church's web site is a relatively new activity.

Resource Updates have traditionally been included in regular mailings of Equipping to congregational leaders of MC Canada churches. Each mailing is targeted to different areas of congregational ministry. (If you haven't seen them or don't know about them, ask your pastor, church council chair, or the person who picks up your congregation's mail.) Resource Updates list new and timely worship resources (such as planners and guides), study books, resources for small groups, intergenerational aids, and much more!

Making hard copies of these resource listings accessible to more people has been a cost challenge in the past. But now anyone with internet access can download Resource Updates (January - May, 2000) from the Mennonite Church Canada web site.

"Mennonite Church Canada is one of the few Canadian denominations that offer its membership resource services," says Justina Heese, executive secretary or Resources Commission. "We're pleased that we are now able to offer these resources, even in a limited way, on the Mennonite Church Canada web site." Printed versions will continue to be sent by mail.

Plans are also underway to build an on-line searchable database of material at the Resource Centre, allowing users to search by author, title or topic, and request items by email. Readers are encouraged to contact the Resource Centre toll free at 1-866-888-6785 or visit the Resource Centre.

The Resource Centre also invites submissions from writers and resource developers.
