    • Gallery Curator heads south
      Winnipeg, Man.—
      Ray Dirks is heading south this fall. The curator of the Mennonite Heritage Centre Gallery has accepted an invitation for a September-December stint as artist-in-residence at the Overseas Ministries Study Centre (OSMC) in New Haven, Connecticut. Through the Centre’s close connection with the adjacent Yale University campus, Dirks will also be a research fellow at Yale.

    • 10th Man Gift Keeps on Giving: Seeds of Life
      Winnipeg, Man.—
      A Mennonite Men dinner at the Mennonite Church Canada Saskatoon Assembly in July helped raise awareness of the 10th Man bi-national building program, and celebrated a $50,000 grant to the Seeds of Life congregation in Altona, Manitoba.
    • Nighswander re-appointed as General Secretary
      Winnipeg, Man.
      —Dan Nighswander’s leadership as General Secretary of Mennonite Church Canada was affirmed with a round of applause at Saskatoon 2002, where outgoing moderator Ron Sawatsky announced the general board’s decision to re-appoint him for a second three-year term.
    • Director of Christian Education & Nurture begins work
      Winnipeg, Man.
      —Elsie Rempel is excited about the opportunity to help churches nurture the faith of their children. Rempel started serving Mennonite Church Canada as Director of Christian Education and Nurture on August 1.
    • MC Canada councils represent 25+ congregations
      Winnipeg, Man.
      A recent survey of home congregations of elected MC Canada council members reveals they are scattered across the country in over twenty-five different congregations.
