Charles B. Dirks was born in Freeman, South Dakota to Benjamin A. and Helena (nee Buller) Dirks on June 11, 1894. He was the second of eight children. While he was only a young child his family moved to Waldheim, Saskatchewan. This is where he grew up and received his public and high school education. He continued his education at Bible Institute of Los Angeles (BIOLA), California and then at the Moody Bible Institute. He married Katharina Warkentin and they had five children, Miriam, Edwin, Evelyn, Francis and Howard. Dirks was ordained in Rosthern Mennonite Church around 1939. He was influential in starting the Nipawin Gospel Mission which later became part of the Christian Missionary Alliance Church. Dirks also served in Lost River and Teddington (Saskatchewan) for many years. Charles B. Dirks died on August 2, 1955.
