Ministry
Mennonite ministry in Burkina Faso is characterized by church planting,
evangelism through media, pastoral training, peace ministry, women’s
projects, linguistics and Bible translation, as well as providing translation
consultancy services for the Burkina Bible Society and HIV/AIDS awareness.
Since a small group of Christians met in 1978, numerous Burkinabe have
made commitments to faith and congregations have emerged. Gradually Christian
groups are forming in several tribal groups, and churches are being planted
in major cities, including Ouagadougou, the capital, and Bobo Dioulasso,
a regional centre. Mission workers and Burkinabe partners are also working
on language analysis and Bible translation in five languages.
