Matheson Island/Pine Dock Ministry Circle

Fred and Helen Peters

Fred and Helen have had a passion for outreach ministry and were excited to hear of the opportunity for their church to become involved in these northern communities. They make regular pastoral visits to the communities and coordinate the larger church’s involvement.

These two communities on the west side of Lake Winnipeg are located about ten miles apart. The main livelihood is the commercial fishing industry, and they operate their own Matheson Island Producers Co-op to market fish. Matheson Island has an active Sunday School program and both communities look forward to having church-related activities for their children in summer. Both communities have expressed the need for an ongoing pastoral presence. Pray that more congregations will join this ministry circle.
