Build a Peace Library

Mennonite Church Canada is excited for the opportunity to walk with the Anabaptist Network in South Africa (ANiSA) as it nurtures communities of peace and justice by drawing on the history, tradition, and wisdom found within the Anabaptist movement.

Help us build the ANiSA Peace Library, a resource centre providing a wide range of Anabaptist material from academic books and journals to children’s books and music. These resources will support people, churches and organizations as they strive to become beacons of peace and hope to South Africa.

We invite Mennonite Church Canada congregations to partner with us in two ways.

  1. Provide new or used books on topics of:
    • Peace (broadly defined)
    • Social justice (broadly defined)
    • Theology that specifically pertains to peace and justice from an Anabaptist perspective
    • Anabaptist theological and biblical works
    • Mennonite theological and biblical works
    • Children’s books that pertain to peace and justice from a Christian/Anabaptist perspective
    • Sunday school curriculum and children activity guides
    • Once your congregation has a collection of books for ANiSA, please deliver them to Erb Street Mennonite Church in Waterloo Ont. From there they will be shipped to South Africa.
  2. Help cover the cost of shipping collected books to South Africa through donations of up to $2,000.
