Ministry
An Anabaptist church is growing among the Isaan people of northeastern
Thailand. Mennonite Church Canada Witness workers provide pastoral leadership
to the Living Water Church where members come from villages around the
town of Borabu. A second region of outreach is beginning in the district
of Kosum Phisai, 36 kms northwest of Borabu. Through friendship evangelism,
English classes, Bible teaching, and through an invitational Christian
community, the church is growing in this part of Thailand where there
is virtually no other Christian church presence.
Celebrations
- A new church building was recently completed, and is providing a
focal point for the life of the Christian community in Borabu.
- Several
young Christians have received training at a Bible college in Thailand
and are returning to Borabu to provide leadership in the church.
- The
cow lending project has expanded and provides needed income to more
Isaan people.

in medical missions and English camp. Carman Mennonite Church sent

Challenges
- A poor economy in this rural part of Thailand leaves many Isaan
people in poverty.
- Co-workers from North America are needed to help
teach English and assist with economic development.
- Many believers
still face criticism and misunderstanding for being followers of Jesus
Christ.
