Offering Bible teaching in a culture whose language does not exist in written form requires patience. Since her work started, Lillian has developed orthography for the written language of the Siamou speaking people. She has trained a literacy coordinator, trained teachers for the program, and prepared materials to teach the Siamou people to read their language for the first time. Literacy classes are now being run in all of the villages under local leadership. Pray that the teachers and members of the literacy committee will continue working together to forward the cause of literacy in Siamou, working with the finances they have. Pray that lives will be transformed as literacy opens doors to God’s word, and that Bible stories will be printed and eagerly consumed and understood.

As the literacy program is running successfully under local leadership, Lillian is joining the Bible Translation team to meet the growing need for God’s word (scriptures) in Siamou.

Norm has joined Lillian in Witness work in Burkina through his work in the recording studio. He runs the studio equipment, records scriptures which have been translated in the local languages on various media in order to broadcast on the radio or on digital players. Norm will also train local technicians to run the studio.
