Rod and Kathi serve as Mennonite Central Committee Northeast Asia Representatives for projects in China, the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (North Korea), and the Republic of Korea (South Korea). They are based in Beijing, where they have lived with their three children since the summer of 1998, having first worked with the Mennonite Partners in China (MPC). Some of their joys include relating to MCC-appointed workers under the MPC program, representing MCC on the MPC board, partnering on relief and development projects in North Korea, supervision of MCC’s International Volunteer Exchange Program, SALT, and Global Family programs in the region, partnering in peace education with the Korea Anabaptist Center, and expanding MCC’s work in China.
