Sharing the Easter Faith with Children:

Helping Children Observe Lent and Celebrate Easter

All too often congregational plans for Lent focus on adults only; services for Holy Week include children only on Palm Sunday and Easter, making no effort to explore with them what happened in between. Yet the Easter message is as much Good News for children as it is for adults. This book is an attempt to articulate the Easter Good News for children and to suggest ways that congregations and families can share that message with their children.

Part One examines the message and the ways children respond to it at different ages (birth to age 12).
Part Two offers plans for including children in the congregation's Lent-Easter disciplines and celebrations.
Part Three is a collection of session plans to use in exploring the book with groups of parents, teachers and congregational committees.
Part Four is an annoted bibliography of Lent-Easter resources for children and the adults who share Lent and Easter with them.
