Nurturing Healthy Sexuality Conference:
A videorecording of two plenary session with speaker Gayle Gerber Koontz, Professor of Theology and Ethics at Associated Mennonite Biblical Seminary
Session 1 Righteousness and peace will kiss each other: what about sex and spirituality - Psalm 85:5.
Our healthy desires for connection, relationship, touch and communion come from being created by God. As a society, we have separated sexuality and the sacred. We need to repair this breach by bringing it back into our worship and embodying holy sexuality for God's sake.
Session 2 Honouring our sexual selves in the body of Christ and for the sake of the world
Nurturing healthy sexuality in the christian perspective recognizes that we are beloved by God and that our sexual selves are God's own. Feeling shame as a consequence of sexual sin, such as perpetrating in incestuous relationship, is true shame. However, true shame should not be confused with our God-given sexuality as individuals. God offers sexual salvation, grace, new hope, transformation, healing and wholeness.
