Mennonite Confession of Faith:Dordrechtby: Irvin B. Horst
The Dordrecht Confession of Faith is a peace agreement produced by the Dutch Mennonites in 1632. In Europe and North America it has long been a bulwark for Mennonites to inform their governments about their faith, especially in matters relating to the swearing of oaths, military service, and the payment of taxes. Simultaneously the document has served as a handbook for Mennonite leaders to instruct newcomers to the faith. It is still consistently used by conservative groups such as the Old Order Amish and Old Order Mennonites.
