One cannot prevent a tornado or earthquake, but working volunteers are often at the ready when it comes time to recover. In a pandemic situation, prevention and preparedness are key because the many ready volunteers may themselves be ill or be fully engaged with their own families and needs. A pandemic will stress the public health system beyond capacity – governments will turn to churches and non-profits for help. So how can the church prepare?
