Worshiping with Children:

Including Children in the Congregation's Worship, using the Revised Common Lectionary

After 35 years of serving on church staff, mostly in children's ministry, I am on my own. So, there is time to dig more deeply into what interests me most - how we can welcome children into the congregation's worship as full participants.

20 years ago I wrote Forbid Them Not which offered ideas for including children for each Sunday of the Revisied Common Lectionary cycle. That was before blogs. Now rather than write another book, I invite you to join me in creating prayers, ways of presenting scripture, children's times, sermon illustrations, and who knows what else. I'll provide ideas for each week to get things started, but hope you will build on those ideas or add some of your own.
