| August 7, 2005 |
Bob & Fran Gerber (N. Main St. Mennonite Church,
Nappanee, IN), have arrived this week at the Jesus Village Church,
in Chun Cheon, South Korea as Witness/ Mission Network workers.
Pray that their term of service will be a blessing to the congregation
and the community in which it ministers. |
|
Glyn and Susan Alison Jones are returning to Canada
for two months of itineration and re-connecting with friends and
family. They will be speaking in 10 congregations, several schools
and senior homes, sharing about God’s presence among the Africa
Indigenous Churches. Your support for their ministry in Canada and
in Botswana helps encourage and develop church leaders. |
| August 14, 2005 |
At the end of this month, Walter Franz, long time
Director of Native Ministry for Mennonite Church Canada, will be
retiring. Praise God for the many relationships that have developed
over the years and the strengthening of Native congregations and
their relationships with other churches. Pray for Walter and Hilda
as they transition to voluntarily pastoring the Riverton Fellowship
Circle. |
|
Mennonite Church Canada Witness workers, Todd &
Jeannette Hanson and Cari Friesen, are leading the China festival
“A Taste of China” in Rosthern, SK this afternoon. Through
your support and through itineration, they are able to share about
the Chinese people, their culture and context in which they share
God’s love and good news. |
| August 21, 2005 |
Pray for the Christian education leaders in your
congregation as they prepare for the fall season of Sunday school
and church activities. |
|
Native Ministry has helped and encouraged clusters
of churches in partnership with Native congregations. Summer camps
and Bible schools are excellent ways for people of different backgrounds
to come together and share in God’s abounding love. With your
support, Native Ministry is able to strengthen the partnerships
and appreciation of the gifts each group brings to the partnership
circle. |
| August 28, 2005 |
Give thanks for the way that summer camping shapes faith, as staff
and campers return home and look forward to fall activities. Thank
God for new steps of faith in Jesus Christ. |

Bruce Yoder and Nancy Frey have been instrumental in finding service
opportunities for Mennonite Church Canada Witness Interns. Interns
minister God’s love and care to children in the Casa Grande
Orphanage, to the sick through a health care centre, and benefit from
the hospitality and care of the Beninese. Your support shapes many
people’s lives as they serve God and each other. |
