Equipping No. 59 September 2005
a resource packet for equipping Mennonite Church Canada pastors and leaders

Anita and Gina
are responsible for Equipping.

While many of you have been enjoying the summer sunshine, we have played ‘trading faces’ in the office. We want to take this opportunity to say thank-you and farewell to one of the faces of Equipping, Tammy Rempel. We wish Tammy and her family well as they re-locate to Gretna, MB and take on positions at Mennonite Collegiate Institute. At the same time we welcome back Gina Loewen, who has recently returned to our office after teaching English in South Korea as a Witness intern.

As September approaches, we anticipate the arrival of new curriculum and resources. In this issue you will find several listings of resources available through the MC Canada Resource Centre and our publishers, including a view of the new KidsPak. You are also invited to create a Scripture slogan for Assembly 2006, learn about the North American Young Adult Retreat, and read about Pastors Week at AMBS.

Questions or comments? Please call us at 1-866-888-6785 (888-6781 local) or email . Enjoy!

Please help us…Can you help ensure that these items reach the right people? Thanks! Anita (left) and Gina (right) – Equipping Coordinators.

Note about Resources

All new resources are being added to the Resource Centre Catalogue, where you can use keyword searches to find the resource you need.

Note about PDF documents:

Trouble cutting & pasting from Acrobat PDF files? The newest version of Adobe Reader lets you select the exact amount of text you want, even from documents that contain columns (older versions of Reader selected text line by line across all columns – a process that would jumble text and challenge even the most patient user). Download the latest FREE version of Adobe Reader with this link.

  • To select text from a PDF document, choose the “I” beam Select Text tool from the Adobe Reader tool bar at the top of the screen, and highlight the text you want to copy from the document. Copy it. Then paste it into your bulletin or other document.
  • To select images from a PDF document, choose the "Select Image" tool from the Adobe Reader tool bar at the top of the screen, and highlight the image you want to copy from the document. Copy it. Then paste it into your bulletin or other document.
