Witness Notes:

This is how your financial support of Mennonite Church Canada WITNESS is ministering...from across the street to around the world!

March 5, 2006

Lent 1: Thank God for the many individuals in our MC Canada congregations who have regular contact with Aboriginal people in their workplace or otherwise. They are part of the “church scattered”. Pray for extra support and encouragement for them as they live out their daily lives among their neighbors.

Mark your calendars! Mennonite Church Canada Annual Assembly in Edmonton, Tuesday July 4th to Friday July 7th. For more information visit (mennonitechurch.ca/events/edmonton/) or check with your church office.

Dann and Joji Pantoja, are MC Canada Witness workers beginning a Christian peacebuilding ministry in the southern Philippines island of Mindanao. While support from their home congregation is making this new ministry possible, additional support is also needed. Pray that they will be able to establish strong relationships with Muslim neighbors.

March 12, 2006

Lent 2: Pray for church partners and mission representatives meeting in Macau, China, March 13-16, for the Consultation on Anabaptist Leadership Development in East Asia. Pray for wisdom and creativity as church partners and mission representatives discern new approaches to address leadership training needs for Anabaptist churches in Asia.

Mark your calendars! Mennonite Church Canada Annual Assembly in Edmonton, Tuesday July 4th to Friday July 7th. For more information visit (mennonitechurch.ca/events/edmonton/) or check with your church office.

The INTOTEMAK (“my friends”) Native Ministry newsletter is being expanded to include news items, issues and events that are happening across Canada. Your donations and subscriptions (and articles!) make it possible for important communicating and learning to take place among the “friends” who read the newsletter. Maybe you want to become a “friend”, too, and have INTOTEMAK come to your home!

March 19, 2006

Lent 3: “O Lord our God, we confess that we are pulled this way and that by the gods of our day: material success, the appeal of self-help culture and the desire to live without accountability. Help us to turn from worldly-wisdom and trust in the wisdom of the cross.”

Mark your calendars! Mennonite Church Canada Annual Assembly in Edmonton, Tuesday July 4th to Friday July 7th. For more information visit (mennonitechurch.ca/events/edmonton/) or check with your church office.

The church is growing in China. Mennonite Church Canada Witness is one of four Mennonite partners working together through the China Educational Exchange (CEE). The Chinese church is being strengthened and encouraged through the ministry of Christian English teachers and through leadership training programs for Chinese pastors.

March 26, 2006 Lent 4: “O Lord our God and Saviour, we confess that as individuals we cannot save ourselves from the failures and fears that beset us, and as communities we cannot plan or pull off our own deliverance. We look to you for forgiveness, healing and hope of transformation; we are saved by your grace.”   The Connexus language institute in Seoul, Korea, is associated with the Korea Anabaptist Center (KAC) which is supported by MC Canada Witness. Despite a teacher shortage, there has been a strong response to the Connexus English program which encourages relationship building and discussion of faith and peace issues. Pray that enough teachers would be found, and that relationships with students will be a strong witness to their Christian faith.
