Peace Sunday – In a world
where violence has a root in our communities and in our world,
we pray that our church may be a beacon of your Spirit of peace.
Teach us to examine our own lives and to determine where reconciliation
is needed. Enable people of your church to live as confident ambassadors
of Jesus’ Gospel
of peace. |

Mission Sunday – God, you call us to be followers
of Jesus Christ, and by the power of your Holy Spirit, to grow
as communities of grace, joy, and peace. You have called, equipped
and sent the church, a community of disciples of Jesus. God give
us the strength and perseverance to grow as communities in Christ,
engaging the world with the reconciling gospel of Jesus, so that
your healing and hope flows through us to the world |

Thank God for the opportunity for Mennonite Church
Canada Witness to continue providing semi-annual leadership development
workshops to the pastors in the Evangelical Missionary Church of
Cuba. Mennonite Church Canada staff, Janet Plenert and Jack Suderman
recently returned from Cuba. They ask you to pray for strong identity
and good leadership in the growing Cuban church that ministers
in a context that can lead toward church disunity. |
Conrad Stoesz’s ministry includes the collection
and preservation of documents that help bring understanding and shape
identity often while working on a family, community or congregational
history. He also promotes the web site www.alternativeservice.ca which tells the story of Canada’s conscientious objectors.
Thank you for your support of this ministry. |

Thank God for a good start to a ministry of teaching at Connexus
for Vanessa and Mark Wiehler who are new Witness Associates in South
Korea. They enjoy the community lunches among office staff at Connexus
and are getting adjusted to teaching Korean adults. Mark and Vanessa
need your prayer as they become acquainted with Korean ways of communication
and the best way to teach in a new context. |
