Today is Church Education
Sunday in Mennonite Church
Canada and Mennonite Church USA. You are invited to give thanks,
pray for and call attention to the educational ministry of the
Mennonite Church’s schools, from elementary through graduate
levels. Pray for our students, teachers, staff, and school boards;
that God might transform and use their excitement, knowledge and
experiences to be a blessing. Pray that God and the church will
support our schools and help them be faithful to our calling to
engage the world with the reconciling Gospel of Jesus Christ. |
Does church really matter?
Find out by tuning in to Church Matters, a Mennonite Church Canada
produced issues and interview format radio program on the third
Sunday of each month, at 8:45 am on CFAM 950, Altona, AM 1250,
Steinbach, and CJRB 1220 Boissevain, or listen anytime at www.mennonitechurch.ca/tiny/158.

MC Canada’s radio broadcast and podcast “Church
Matters” is now entering its second season. Your support
is helping listeners understand the unique role that the community
of God’s people – the church – plays in bringing
God’s healing and hope to our world. Current and past episodes
can be heard online at www.mennonitechurch.ca/tiny/158. |

The Mennonite Church Canada Learning
Tour to Cuba ends tomorrow (Feb 11). Please pray that God would use this 7 day
experience to teach those from Canada and those in the host country
about God’s love and work in the world. |
Today is the First Sunday of Lent, the
beginning of a season in which we pay extra attention to the
faith formation and renewal of God’s people. Your support
allows Mennonite Church Canada to produce intergenerational material
such as Out of the Depths: 2008 Lent at
Home Resource (www.mennonitechurch.ca/tiny/523),
and KidsPak: Burkina Faso: The Little Church in the Big City,
(www.mennonitechurch.ca/tiny/531).
These resources nurture worship, stewardship and mission among
the younger members of the family of God. Thank you for your
help! |

Please pray for the continued work on the next
phases of the “Reaching Up to God Our
Creator” curriculum
that is being developed for use by children and adults in Aboriginal
and non-Aboriginal congregations. |
In Cuba, Mennonite Church Canada helps in presenting
semi-annual leadership workshops and partners with the Evangelical
Missionary Church of Cuba. Because of your support, Mennonite Church
Canada is able to be part of the growing church in a country with
a wave of new interest in Christianity. |

Dorothy and Jake Unrau completed their term as Mennonite Church
Canada Witness workers at the end of January. Please keep the Unraus
in your prayers as they transition back into Canadian life and reconnect
with friends and family in Alberta. The Unraus began as Witness workers
in 2003 and worked with ministry both in Ukraine and Germany. |
Mennonite Church Canada Native Ministries is working on the project “Reaching
Up to God Our Creator,” a Christian curriculum for young and
old that builds understanding between Aboriginal and non-Aboriginal
cultures. Thank you for the support that makes it possible for many
to learn about the heritage of culture right here in Canada. |
