March 2 |
Please pray for the political and civil unrest in Kenya and the religious and political tension in Pakistan. Churches in Kenya
ask for prayer as they work to provide relief to the injured and displaced. Mennonite Church Canada also received a prayer
request from the church in Pakistan asking for, "strength and wisdom so that we may become useful tools to bring about
lasting peace in Pakistan through the promotion of interfaith harmony." |
|
Mennonite Church Canada facilitates the placement of interns in ministries around the world. Thanks to your support, MC
Canada had the capacity to organize internships in 12 countries, giving invaluable ministry experience to Canadian Mennonite
young people. |
March 9 |
Please pray for Marlow and Vicky Ramsay, Witness workers
in Mongolia who are setting up their current assignment so
that later this year they can transition to North America for an
extended leave. They will be taking a leave of absence to spend
time with their daughter Jessica who will be readjusting to
Canadian living and to university. Until then, they want to focus
on their work in Mongolia. |
Jake & Dorothy Unrau completed their service in Germany at
the end of January and are currently living in Airdrie, Alberta.
Thank you for supporting the Unraus through their years in
Germany and Ukraine and for your support of MC Canada as
we continue ministry in both countries. |
March 16 Palm Sunday |
Victorious God, we know with you that things are not always
what they seem. This is a confounding week where the praises
of Palm Sunday give way to the accusations of Maundy
Thursday. We pray that your humility and strength would
help us face our own desires for praise and our own fears of
rejection. Help us God, to trust in your victory and live your
way, especially in the hard times, like Jesus did. Amen. |
Your support of Mennonite Church Canada ministry at home
and around the world makes possible the transformation of
lives as well as the telling of these inspirational stories through
Canadian Mennonite and www.mennonitechurch.ca. In 2007,
MC Canada released 71 news stories the ministry that we do
together. Thank you! |
March 23 Easter Sunday |
Alleluia, the hour has come! God of resurrection and life, as
the light of Easter disperses the shadows of Good Friday, we
rejoice in your power; power which turns fear into joy, despair
into hope, defeat into victory, and evil into goodness. Let new
life spring forth through the Holy Spirit in your church, your
body on earth, and bring grace to all through Jesus Christ the
risen One. Amen. |
Mennonite Church Canada Youth Assembly is a great place for
youth from across Canada to gather and make new friends,
experience worship together, and serve others. Your support
helps youth get to know the broader Mennonite Church and
grow closer in their relationship to Christ. |
March 30 |
Please pray for the dozens of congregational volunteer planners
who are working hard to prepare for the MC Canada Annual
Assembly (July 7-8) and People's Summit for Faithful Living
(joint gathering of MC Canada and MC USA, July 8-9). Ask for
God's grace in their lives as they juggle families, employment,
and volunteer work. |
Registration is now open for At the
Crossroads: Promise and Peril, a joint People's Summit of Mennonite Church
Canada and Mennonite Church USA, and for the annual MC Canada delegate
assembly. Visit www.mennonitechurch.ca/events/summit08 to register online or
download a registration form. Both events take place at the Canadian Mennonite
University in Winnipeg, MB from July 7-10, 2008. |
Mennonite Church Canada staff are hard at work updating the
biannual MC Canada prayer directory, Forming Disciples in a World of Witness. The 2008-2009 issue will be available in July
2008. Thank you so much for praying for MC Canada ministries across the street and around the world! |
