February 1
(Church Education Sunday)

Today is Education Sunday in Mennonite Church Canada and Mennonite Church USA and we have much to be grateful for! Thank God for enabling the Mennonite Church to generate a broad range of educational materials for schools and churches. Pray that through schools, churches and teachers, the Holy Spirit will inspire enthusiasm and commitment to our calling to engage the world with the reconciling Gospel of Jesus Christ. Got an MP3 player? Download Church Matters, a free podcast available on iTunes. You can also listen on your computer at www.mennonitechurch.ca/tiny/206. Your support of Mennonite Church Canada makes it possible for Elsie Rempel to produce important faith forming resources for all ages within the church. Resources include At Home devotional booklets for Advent and Lent, KidsPak Projects, downloadable Children’s stories, Special Sunday worship resources, Season of Prayer resources, and more.

February 8

With your support, MC Canada Witness has a presence in Israel/Palestine. Hinke Loewen-Rudgers, a long-term Witness worker, is exploring ways to build relationships with churches in Galilee and the West Bank. Palmer and Ardys Becker are on a Special Assignment with Witness to teach at Bethlehem Bible College. Pray that God will open doors to strong and fruitful relationships for these workers. Pray also that the Holy Spirit will inspire a ceasefire in Israel and Palestine and encourage leaders in those areas to take innovative steps toward true and lasting reconciliation. Your support has enabled Mennonite Church Canada to share the Gospel of Peace across Latin America through workshops, leadership training and church partnerships. This ongoing embrace of Anabaptism has resulted in the creation of the Anabaptist Christian Resource Centre for Peace (CERCAPAZ) in Chile and the birth of a new Mennonite Church in Cuba, as well as the celebration of 10 years of mission in Brazil for JIMMI (the Brazilian Mennonite Mission Board). Thank you for sharing your prayers and resources to make these developments possible.

February 15

Please pray that the vibrant ministry of MC Canada Witness/ Mennonite Mission Network workers, Vic and Kathy Thiessen, through the London Mennonite Centre (LMC) will continue to touch believers and non-believers alike across the UK. The LMC offers seminars and training programs about Anabaptism through a variety of network connections, and operates the mail-order Metanoia Bookstore. See Mennonite Church Canada in action at www.youtube.com/mennonitechurchca. From staplers to computers, from paper to telephones – all are basic equipment and supplies Mennonite Church Canada staff and international workers use to accomplish their work. Your support helps outfit workers for the work that we do together with you. Thank you!
February 22 An increasing number of families focus on the season of Lent with their children by using the At Home Lent Resources that are downloadable at www.mennonitechurch. ca/tiny/689. Pray that families will grow in their identification with Jesus and his earthly journey as God-with-us. With your support, Witness workers Jeff and Tany Warkentin are helping to grow a new church in Ougadougou, Burkina Faso, that provides spiritual encouragement and mentoring to young adults studying at the local university. Meet some members of this young congregation and learn how faith has impacted their lives at: www.mennonitechurch.ca/tiny/310
