Pray for wisdom and strength as the Mennonite
Church of Lagoa Encantada in Recife, Brazil rebuilds their mudslide damaged
sanctuary. Praise God for the 20 years of ministry that they celebrated
in June! |

Church Canada fellowships are emerging – and many of them
involve newcomers to Canada. Your support of MC
Canada Multi-cultural Ministries helps to translate resources
to meet the needs of our growing church! |

August 9 |
New MC Canada Witness workers Karen
and Andrew Suderman are preparing to begin a three year term in South Africa at the end
of this month. Pray that God will guide them through this transitional
period and open doors to supportive new relationships. |
Titus Guenther, Associate Professor, Theology and
Missions at Canadian Mennonite University, went on a MC Canada
Witness Special Assignment to Chile. The Peñaflor congregation
have expressed appreciation for Titus’s teaching and recent
visit – and we extend their gratitude to you, for your support
of this endeavour. |

MC Canada Witness workers George and Tobia
Veith, with their
children, Matthew, Michael and Marika, are returning from Macau
for a year of North American ministry. Pray that this time of transition
will refresh their spirits and bring new vision for their ministry. |
Praise God for the successful five-month Witness Special Assignment
that Palmer and Ardys Becker recently completed at Bethlehem Bible
College in Palestine. Thank you for enabling MC Canada’s participation
in God’s global church! |

At Assembly 2009, delegates supported a proposal to advocate for
peace in the public square. Pray that MC Canada congregations will
actively engage in these projects and others that foster imagination
for non-violent peace building in the public square. |
Mennonite Church Canada has prepared and maintains vital pandemic
preparedness resources for the church at www.churchpandemicresources.ca.
Your support enables MC Canada to equip congregations to faithfully
respond as God’s people where hope and help is needed. |
August 30 |
Pray that the Holy Spirit will find fertile hearts
and minds in the four Canadian young adults who have been accepted
for the next MC Canada Witness Radical Journey program starting in
September. Tim Wenger (ON), Kyle
Berg (MB), Gabriella Wiebe (BC),
and Ruth Weber (ON) will be assigned to either South Africa, Sweden
or Paraguay. |
Mennonite Church Canada directs or engages in various
insurance and mutual aid programs to ensure that pastors, church
staff and mission workers are supported when they are ill. Your
gifts ensure that there is ongoing support of church workers during
these times of need. |
