and non-Aboriginal partner
congregations for a time of
learning and fellowship. |
From June
21-23, Winnipeg
will host the World Religions
Summit with over 50 religious
leaders of the world’s most
prominent faiths. General
Secretary Robert J. Suderman
will represent Mennonite Church
Canada. The primary objective
of this gathering is to hold G8
nations accountable for the
pledges made in support of
eight Millennium Development
Goals (MDGs) to help end global
disparity. Suderman will speak on
the topic of Peace and Security.

help redress a great wrong in our history. The first national event
of the Truth and Reconciliation Commission will happen at The Forks
on June 16-19. Christians should attend to learn about healing
and hope for ourselves, for our neighbours and for our country.

Mennonite Church Canada congregations are perpetrating acts of
peace! Mennonite churches in Calgary held a billboard campaign
of peace slogans in December, and in March, called for a peaceful
response to local white supremacist activity. Floradale Mennonite
Church of Ont. presented “Those Peace Shoes”
