Witness Notes

We encourage you to include one of the following notes of interest in your church bulletin
each Sundaythis month. Because some information is sensitive, it is excluded from the online version - congregations receive hard copies in the Equipping package that has all the information.

This is how your financial support of Mennonite Church Canada WITNESS is ministering
...from across the street to around the world!

June 2

Effective youth ministry today is part of what will insure a healthy church in years to come. Your contributions enabled Christian Service Ministries staff of Mennonite Church Canada WITNESS to meet together with youth leaders from across the country in May to discuss strategies for connecting young people with mission opportunities.

June 9

The congregation in Zaporizhzhya, Ukraine is growing and needs a new facility. Your contributions to Mennonite Church Canada WITNESS support Jake & Dorothy Unrau to minister and to accompany emerging leadership for that congregation as they discern their future plans and mission.

June 16

China is not open to mission workers coming to plant churches, though many churches exist and many people are coming to know Christ. Financial support of Mennonite Church Canada WITNESS allows China Educational Exchange teachers to speak of their faith in Christ in China. Connections are being made with the Chinese churches. Recently CEE was granted official papers recognizing their presence and work in China.

June 23

Mennonite Church Canada congregations of Lao, Hmong, Korean, Chinese and other national backgrounds face similar issues and struggles in terms of integrating into broader Canadian culture, language, second generation language questions as well as being faithful to the gospel. Your donations to Mennonite Church Canada WITNESS support Samson Lo, Director of the Multi-cultural Ministries division who facilitates discussion between these various groups.

June 30

In Africa, Mennonite Church Canada WITNESS works through Africa Inter-Mennonite Mission. This institution is now undergoing a major re-structuring under the competent leadership of board chair, Peter Rempel. MC Canada WITNESS is seeking to use your financial contributions more efficiently and effectively in its ministries from across the street to around the world.
