|||||||||
It is with great pleasure that Mennonite Church Canada announces the appointment of Arlyn Friesen Epp to the position of Director of Peace & Justice Ministry. Arlyn's work is a half-time position with a focus on peace advocacy. He will work at developing and nurturing peace initiatives at the congregational level. Arlyn brings a rich background to his new work on behalf of the wider church. In the Mennonite Church Eastern Canada (MCEC), Arlyn has served as pastoral intern at First Mennonite Church in Kitchener, Kitchener House of Friendship, assistant pastor at Vineland Mennonite Church, and as youth minister within MCEC. Arlyn also has experience as Assistant Archivist at the Mennonite Heritage Centre. Arlyn holds a B.A. in both history and theology, and is presently enrolled as an MDiv. candidate. He has training in both restorative justice and in anti-racism. Arlyn is also a playwright and actor. Most recently, Arlyn and his wife, Judith, served with MCC as Program Coordinators for New Orleans in Louisiana. They have two children: Bryn (3), and Allegra (6). We welcome Arlyn to our staff, and invite your well-wishes and prayers as this
important ministry moves forward. May the Christ who modeled a new way of being
and living guide us to become a people who are signs and witnesses of God's peace. Jack Suderman Justina Heese |
