Witness Notes

We encourage you to include one of the following notes of interest in your church bulletin each Sunday this month. When information may be sensitive, it may be excluded from the online version - congregations receive hard copies in the Equipping package that has all the information.

This is how your financial support of Mennonite Church Canada WITNESS is ministering
...from across the street to around the world!

OCTOBER 6

Edith & Neill von Gunten have been Mennonite Church Canada Witness workers with Native Ministries for many years. On Matheson Island, their gifts and deep knowledge of the community are recognized. They have been asked to write a history of Matheson Island to be published in conjunction with its Centennial. Your ongoing support of MC Canada Native Ministries makes fruitful relationships and projects like this one possible.

OCTOBER 13

Erwin & Marian Wiens arrived as MC Canada Witness mission workers in Korea in August. They already have a full plate of ministry opportunities in front of them with the Jesus Village Church. New appointments like this one can happen because of your contributions to International Ministries of MC Canada.

OCTOBER 20

Anne Garber-Kompaore has worked in linguistics and translation in Burkina Faso since 1982. Because of her knowledge of Hebrew she is being asked to participate in many projects related to scriptural translation. International Ministries of MC Canada supports Anne in her ministry and your gifts enable long-term workers like Anne to do effective work.

OCTOBER 27

How do we help kids understand mission and ministry? By explaining it at their level and providing ways and opportunities for them to get involved. One of those ways is KidsPak, a resource for MC Canada congregations that highlight ministry in a way that kids and youth can support and relate to. MC Canada WITNESS and FORMATION work together to produce this resource and your contributions make it possible.
