Christmas Gift idea

Walter Franz

Dear Friends,

In this season of joyful giving and sharing we would like to introduce you to a Métis artist named Jo Cooper, who has created a book filled with images of a Native interpretation of prairie history. Jo’s unique artistic style, warm colours and powerful energy communicate well and tell a story of change.

These paintings depict the journey which began long ago when Native people were one with the buffalo and received many life sustaining gifts from these magnificent animals. With the arrival of Europeans change came to the land, to the animals that roamed it, and to its people.

With the help of KidsPak funds raised by Sunday schools in Mennonite Church Canada, Native Ministry is supporting this book project undertaken by Ancient Echoes Interpretive Centre in Herschel, Saskatchewan. This book would make a meaningful Christmas gift for anyone with an appreciation for art or native history.

May the season of Advent speak to you of good change — for Jesus entered the world to change the lives of people everywhere.
