International Ministry Short-term Opportunity

Assignment objective: 

• The Connexus program is planning to start a new English school for elementary school children in Deokso.  New teachers will work with a team of other Connexus teachers.

Assignment description: 

• Connexus is a new educational concept and community, emphasizing cross-cultural understanding through communication and exchange. Connexus values a holistic approach to education with the aim of personal transformation and growth.
• Through learning language together in authentic relationships among teachers, students, and staff, the Connexus community strives for peace and reconciliation among all peoples, building connections across boundaries of nation, culture, and language.

Qualifications: Necessary skills, experience and education

• Native speaker of English
• Bachelor level university diploma
• Creativity and willingness to work on a team
• Commitment to live according to Anabaptist values of discipleship, community and reconciliation

Financial Arrangements:

• Logistics and financial arrangements are made directly with Connexus which will reimburse the cost of the flight to Seoul, as well as the cost of the final flight back home.  During the three-month volunteer period, all basic living costs will be covered.  And then during the year (or two) of teaching with the E-2 visa, a monthly salary of 1.2 million won (about $1000 USD) will be provided.  Housing is provided, and teachers and staff will live in community, on the same floor of an apartment building in the countryside outside of Deokso.
