Go on a Pilgrimage
This year may be your opportunity to respond to the open invitation from our siblings in faith: visit them and see their reality on the ground. (The following opportunities assume travel will be possible by the time the pilgrimages start.)
Sabeel “Come and See, Go and Tell” pilgrimages.
Canadian Friends of Sabeel offers a unique opportunity to engage directly with communities in Palestine/Israel. Participants meet local leaders, listen to lived experiences, and gain a deeper, more personal understanding of the social, cultural, and political realities on the ground. For many, it is not just a visit, but a transformative experience. Delegations are typically about 10 days in length, including travel, with approximately eight days spent in Palestine/Israel connecting with community members, human rights advocates, and grassroots organizations.
The following are the potential delegation periods:
- August 23 – September 3, 2026
- September 23 – October 3, 2026
- Late November (tentative)
- Late December (tentative, to be aligned with the Christ at the Checkpoint Conference)
For more information, please visit the come and see information page here, or inquire by email at: cfosinfluencer@gmail.com.
Christ at the Checkpoint conference,
“Kingdom Ethics in the Face of War and Genocide,” Bethlehem, is now rescheduled for December 27-31. Participants hear Palestinian and international speakers, worship with the “living stones” of the land, and are equipped for advocacy and peacemaking. Click here for registration and more information. Hosted by Bethlehem Bible College and the Bethlehem Institute of Peace and Justice.
German Mennonite Peace Committee learning and service trips.
Download an information sheet here on their upcoming pilgrimages. And if you or people in your circles wish to spend time in service or protective presence, here is a word from coordinator David Lapp-Jost: "In addition to solidarity trips, the German Mennonite Peace Committee (DMFK) also invites volunteers to serve in Palestine, participating in human rights and protective presence work. The primary partner where DMFK supports volunteers is at Tent of Nations, but volunteers are also urgently desired at other farms and villages throughout Palestine on locations that vary in both the physical comfort and the safety of the work. DMFK offers a weekly subsidy to cover the costs of presence in Palestine, and volunteers serving more than four weeks can expect to have their full costs covered. Volunteers of any background are welcome. Interested persons may contact David Lapp-Jost at david.lapp-jost@dmfk.de"
