Stephen Reist Joins Mennonite Church Canada as Database Coordinator

Mennonite Church Canada is pleased to welcome Stephen Reist to the nationwide staff team on a part-time basis starting September 1, 2025.

Stephen brings a wealth of experience in information technology, with over two decades of work in database programming, software development, and IT consulting. His background includes leadership roles in both corporate and nonprofit settings, including Zenon Environmental, Merrill Lynch HSBC, and The Dam Youth Drop-in, where he served as a volunteer IT consultant for over 20 years.

In addition to his technical expertise, Stephen serves as a pastor within Mennonite Church Canada, bringing a unique blend of ministry experience and IT proficiency to this role. His deep understanding of both systems and people will be a valuable asset as he supports the organization’s data infrastructure and digital strategy.

Stephen has an earned BSc in Data Management from the University of Toronto.

We are excited to have Stephen join our team and look forward to the contributions he will make in strengthening our organizational systems.

Stefan Froese Joins Mennonite Church Canada as Executive Coordinator

Mennonite Church Canada is pleased to announce that Stefan Froese will be joining our nationwide staff team starting September 1, 2025.

Stefan brings over a decade of leadership experience in education, ministry, and organizational administration. Most recently serving as Centre Administrator at Sylvan Learning Centres of Winnipeg, he has demonstrated a strong commitment to collaborative leadership, operational excellence, and clear communication. His pastoral background within both Mennonite Church Canada and Mennonite Brethren congregations, combined with his deep appreciation for the global Mennonite story, makes him a thoughtful and passionate addition to our team.

"As a child of missionaries, Mennonite Church Canada was a comforting constant in my youth," says Froese, "In many ways, it feels like coming home. I'm humbled to be able to serve alongside a compassionate and collaborative team."

Stefan’s appointment reflects our ongoing commitment to strengthening our organizational capacity and supporting our mission to engage the world with the reconciling work of Jesus Christ.
