Education and childcare for vulnerable children in Bolivia

Kids at Guarderia Samulito.

The Samuelito Day Care Center (Guarderia Samuelito) was opened in 2007 by the Evangelical Mennonite Church of Bolivia in the Santa Cruz suburb of Villa Cochabamba.  It is located in an area listed as a "danger zone" and serves families living with poverty. For many single-parent families, the Guarderia provides vitally needed childcare so that parents can work to provide for the family.

In the past up to 120 children have been cared for at the Center. Due to reductions of financial support for this critical work that number most recently dropped to below 100.

The Day Care Center teaches values of love, friendship, respect, honesty, justice, self-esteem, as well as improving the quality of life for children of families of scarce economic means. Programs in the daycare facilitate improved health, stimulate cognitive development, and encourage responsible parenting. This is one of the major programs of the Evangelical Mennonite Church of Bolivia as they reach out to share the knowledge and love of God in their communities.

In response to an urgent request from the Evangelical Mennonite Church in Bolivia (EMCB), Charleswood Mennonite Church in Winnipeg, Man., established a relationship with the Bolivia church in 2018. This relationship includes an annual financial contribution. You are invited to join Charleswood and EMCB. Donations to this ministry will be used for the work of the Guarderia Samuelito near Santa Cruz.

Join Bolivian brothers and sisters in sharing God's love in their communities.
