Gathering 2025 Discernment/Discussion Summary

Gathering 2025 brought together Regional Church Delegates, Congregation Representatives and Participants numbering over 400 from across MC Canada to reflect on who we are as a nationwide church, where we are going, and how we are walking together in faith. Guided by 1 Peter 4:10 “Each has a gift”, the church discerned what it means to become an Intercultural Church, to live out the priorities of our denomination, and to enhance nationwide programming.

Gathering 2025 Summary: Outcomes and Feedback

Through the discernment process that happened between the hundreds of dedicated individuals at Gathering 2025, a summary was created. From that summary, Regional Church Executive Ministers in collaboration with MC Canada staff distilled four key initiatives. These key initiatives help name what the nationwide church could strive towards in the next few years: Theological Renewal, Embracing the Diversity Within our Churches, Equipping Leaders, and Embodying Peace. Each of these initiatives could take us down many paths, and we want your further insight into what ideas you are most drawn towards.

Why Global Companionship?  

The goal of mission is not primarily aid (humanitarian assistance); it’s not even partnership. We engage in mission to establish friendships that lead to the formation of a new people in the world... If we are in Christ, we have become part of a new creation.
